Tray of coreopsis seedlings. Apparently some seeds escaped into the yard. Who doesn’t love surprises?
I’ve been nursing a tray of coreopsis seedlings for several weeks. This is my first try at starting seeds. I don’t think I’ve been a very good plant parent because they seem a bit weak.
We noticed a “weed” in the yard that looked suspiciously familiar. Because it was something colorful in a sea of blah green, the mower passed it by. Imagine my surprise when I finally got a bloom in the seedling tray that looked just like the “weed.” Soon more blooms popped and it does seem to be a coreopsis.
However, I’m still a newbie when it comes to gardening and flowers vs. weeds, so I may be totally wrong. The seedlings are now planted in a garden bed so we’ll see what happens. Wish me luck!
